The main component of limestone is calcium carbonate (CaCO3) and Mohs hardness is 3. After limestone is mined from limestone, it is crushed to form limestone particles, i.e. stone, sand, or further ground to form limestone powder, which is widely used in building materials, highway, metallurgy, chemical and other industries.


Lime can be divided into quicklime and hydrated lime. Limestone is calcined into calcium oxide CaO (commonly known as quicklime), which is generally in block form and is used in water treatment, asphalt improvement, desulfurization, building materials, medicine and other industries. Quicklime becomes hydrated lime by absorbing moisture or adding water. Its main component is calcium hydroxide Ca (OH) 2, which is used in environmental protection, medicine, food and other industries.


Processing technology

Limestone or limestone resources are abundant, and the grade of raw ore can generally meet the requirements of various industrial departments. Therefore, it is generally only necessary to carry out simple ore washing instead of using complex beneficiation process for purification.


The processing of limestone mainly involves crushing, grading and production of quicklime, hydrated lime, precipitated calcium carbonate, ultra-fine (nano) calcium carbonate, carbon dioxide, etc. Limestone generally adopts dry crushing process. For metallurgical and road limestone, the ore can be crushed and screened.


For the production of fine powder products, the ore is directly grinded by Raymond mill after being crushed by jaw crusher, impact crusher or cone crusher. The product fineness is 100-325 mesh. The specific processing process is as follows:


Phase one: coarse crushing

The limestone bulk material is uniformly fed by the vibrating feeder through the silo, and then conveyed to the jaw crusher for coarse crushing. The coarse crushed material is screened by the vibrating screen, and then conveyed to the impact crusher by the belt conveyor.

Phase two: medium and fine crushing

After the coarse and crushed materials transported to the counter-breaking process are crushed by the counter-breaking process, the circular vibrating screen is used to screen the materials after the counter-breaking process, and the larger particles are returned to the counter-breaking process for re-breaking; If finer products or shaping are needed, the crushed materials will be sent to the sand machine for further crushing and shaping.

Third stage: grinding

The crushed small limestone materials are sent to the silo by the elevator, and then sent to the grinding chamber of the mill by the vibration feeder in a uniform and quantitative manner for grinding.


Stage four: Packaging

Package and store the finished materials.
